my god, don't you just know it...

i'm back, guess there wasn't much point in watching that space after all

my rant may well have been about people who have those green P plates on their cars - this is done by cowards who have just passed their tests and are fearful of driving alone, or is used as an excuse for hitting other drivers - if you can pass a bloody test you can drive love

seriously, i saw someone with p plates driving around a car park being guided by her dad (assumption), seriously, you should be able to drive, tests aren't exactly easy and when i passed i was straight on the local dual carriageway belting along singing, still havent crashed yet and i refuse to tempt fate...

so time to explain my title - its a ref from the streets song "you're fit, but my god, don't you just know it" and it refers to a couple of fitties who i see around the place, yes yes very nice but why do they have to doll themselves up to go to the pool room or dinner, its hardly necessary and theyre fit anyway, we go to dinner in flip flops and muddy shorts half the time - its just a way of attracting attention, and i bet they scowl if a bloke happened to look at their arses...ignore me im just bitter

anyway, i have an exam tomorrow and i may well be screwed...bugger

god help us if anyone gets injured

i wonder what the odds were on belarus, hopefully shorter since that disgraceful northern ireland game

ok what was i going to rant about...ive completely forgotten

i may have to return later when i remember, so annoying, it wasn't football, wasn't women, although im sure i could, wasn't tv or anything, wasn't america - it clearly wouldve been interesting, shouldve written it down

one down, and never getting up..

well, done one exam, complete pile of **** but hopefully ive passed and never have to worry about it ever again...joy!!

women are antagonising again and im really feeling too lazy to write all about it, in short, damn fit girl who i don't necessarily 'like' in a fancying sort of way but i definitely would and would be interested, however they always have boyfriends and theyre always long term ones!! cocks!

also my damn flatmate now has a new girlfriend (this will cause probs of its own but not yet) whom we were both slagging off last week, it wasnt a harsh slagging off was more us being male pigs due to large "assets" (why u ask would we do such a bizarre thing - she's northern and odd) - gimp! and now im slightly ashamed coz he was lying and i wasnt and its potential a sticky position, probably not tho as hes about as serious about life as me

what else, im just very frustrated, the government should ban women bearing flesh and tight clothing (no fat jokes today, honest) and why do only girls with boyfriends have an interes in me?? huh! seriously, she was stroking my muscles on my arm (this is yet another one - there's loads of these women people), not happy, not happy at all!! - on the plus side i didn't even know my left arm had muscles, go triceps!

time flies

well, exams are days away, revision is starting to get better, lets just hope i pass

it's review of lost time!

just seen the newest ep, 3 minutes - why its called that i dont actually know but it was basically a set-up episode for the finale and very little happened and most of the ep was in the trailer to be honest

michael convinced kate sawyer jack and hurley to go to the others, as they told him to, blackmailing him with walt and sayid is on to him

basically the main point of the ep is showing what happened to michael when he wandered off, he was captured and stuck in a small village of tents near a hatch, walt says they are pretending, which along with claires experience would seem to imply that they are not the nutty natives they claim to be, 'zeke' has his beard but is looking a lot cleaner in claires flashbacks, so was ethan

the only interesting thing about this ep was the others and why they want hurley, jack sawyer and kate, and what theyre really like, and whats inside that hatch - im envisioning another season ending with jack staring down the newest hatch, its gonna get on my tits isnt it? have to wait til the end of the year probably, and then there wont be any real explanation again!

eko was up to something as well, i think he typed in the numbers wrong because of the way the camera moved from the screen and keyboard wen he go to 2 (as in 4 8 15 16 2) so maybe he typed 24 41 instead of 23 42 just to play with it, or more likely its the writers messing with my head

o and locke wandered off with his miraculously recovered leg after charlie threw all the heroin into the sea, and gave claire the vaccine (why? who's ill? its probably the vaccine that causes probs) - so like i said, nothing particularly interesting, some teasers about the others but it's basically a set-up for the finale

o yeah and a boat appeared at the end - i saw the trailer and figured that was going to happen (why else would u stare at the ocean like that? a whale?) - and judging from the blurb about the finale the boat was empty, michael did ask for a boat once he delivered the 4 heroes - so who knows

back to louis!

the world is mad

very mad...i was going to say 'gone mad' but i think it's always been mad

firstly, on a trivial and less controversial issue - eurovision, i didnt watch the voting because everyone got bored of strange europeans warbling but i saw the end, and as usual we came near the bottom, good job ireland were there to vote for us (8 points - the next highest was 4 from the danes, explain that one), so im just seeing who voted for us...if i can find such info out

found it..big sheet of numbers, i admit, im british and therefore either hate or mock eurovision whereas europeans seem to actually think of it as serious music show, we chose our entry on the comedy appeal, it looked a lot better on that small stage in the choosing show than it did in an olympic stadium, o well - anyway my point is i dont really care about the contest and where we came but i am interested in the politics of it and i cant sleep yet so meh

ireland gave us the most points, and we gave them 8 in return as well, i admit i didnt even see the irish and i thought they werent in it, o well watever we should ally ourselves with the only other english speaking nation there i guess

unsurprisingly the brits seemed to like the fins and lithuanians - the fins were cool and won so that's fair enough but the lithuanian support really shows the mentality of britannia, we gave em 10, now apart from its neighbours giving them high scores - latvia etc only the irish, the iceland(ers?) and the brits gave them a high score, the 3 most isolated european nations voting on pure comedy value - that says something to me - the song was "we are the winners!!...of eurovision...vote for us" and was hilariously dreadful

so why dont the europeans have a real music industry like us? (my def. of europe is continental) and why do they hate us? or is it just that we're so disconnected...questions i ask every year

anyway, controversy time, israel! im bloody confused about it but my mates were arguing about who was worse over there, so i thought id read up a bit - result: i think i tend towards what the brits a few years ago were thinking - ie. wat the hell? why cant we all just have a cup of tea and cake about it? its such a weird situation and to be honest i dont think brits like me can understand, our borders havent really been questioned in centuries (handy being an isle) unless you count the foreign bits and religion isn't a major thing here, it's just puzzling to me

i think ill stop there, im probably being probed by the nsa or sumthing and im in danger of going on a religious rant again

im back!! another obvious vote was denmark and iceland, look rather anonmalous on the sheet...hehe o well

i forgot to mention fathers for justice are back! and what a way to do it, apparently barging onto the lotto halfway through the eurovision song contest - thats some publicity stunt, nice work boys!! keep at it!!

i like f4j, theyre peaceful and clever (ok flour bombs arent that ingenious but it was humourous and did point out an interesting security issue) - the whole kidnapping little blair wasnt really them, at least thats wat they say, and it never actually happened anyway - it's nice to see groups with a message using peaceful means to tell ppl, reminds me of the chartists...its a british thing, why have ak47s wen we have cake!!

im forever blogging bubbles

well, net has been playing up again, stupid thing

still waiting in newest episode of lost, i read a little bit on what happened but that seems to have all been in the trailer anyway, the fun is in watching it

revision eludes me further, got 4 days left til first exam, im hoping as a first year itll be easy enough anyway

feeling a little out of the loop, mates are all busy revising while i piss about, i don't really feel involved with whats going on...nothing new there then

big brother just started, fortunately i cant watch even if i wanted to, until i go home at least, altho i wouldn't mind having a look at the weirdos, but then id get addicted

how can they call it reality tv? these ppl are nowhere near reality, i admit normal ppl would be boring but cant they describe as nut jobs on camera instead??

anyway, roll on football! i know which side ill be watching!

16/05/2006

i had an interesting name ready for this....

well, i had rants, but i calmed down, i still remember one tho:

political correctness!!! yes i hate it and who actually likes it?? i could moan for hours about positive discrimination and disabled laws - ok ill explain that quickly in case someone gets offended, (in the unlikely event someone reads this) - i have no objection to disabled people being given oppurtunities - however why should businesses be forced to adjust everything to accomodate a tiny proportion of the population? most businesses dont have disabled employees! - if someone in a wheelchair etc shows up and is the best candidate then hire them, then adjust the building as appropriate -

all this bureaucracy makes me mad, doing things as written in books and forms is not always, if ever, the best method - its cheaper and requires less brains and experience - which in itself reduces productivity whether that be in services/business etc

next some adverts i keep hearing - speeding, i speed so im biased however its the advert being a cheeky sod i oppose - apparently wrapping yourself around a tree is insensitive and takes up the valuable time of the emergency services who should be off saving another inconsiderate person who shouldn't be wasting their valuable time, can i ask what should they be doing?? is this the government attempting to shut up the services (they want more money) by completely eradicating tragedy?? it's their job!! and shit happens - next it'll be don't get ill - you are being a nuisance to the over worked and under paid doctors and nurses!!!

next - popular culture and the government being anally retentive!! (again - i sound like a radical, try living under a nanny state!!) - anyway, there's an advert saying i have rights if i get stopped and searched by the police - i can complain and have to be given a reason in writing as well, wooo, if i ever see a cop its a miracle, let alone get searched by one

anyway - i don't mind being told i have rights and the police can't do as they want, hah, altho we all know its a cheap shot to improve public opinion of the civil service/gov/bureaucracy/police etc especially in wake of shocking local elections (why do they even matter?) - however, the ppl who they have chosen to do these adverts are the most stereotypical black, east london rappers they could find speaking in 'cool' language (i presume the gov believe it to be cool), i am not an old fuddy duddy and i dont really care who does the adverts but its so blatantly orientated to be 'trendy' (these are government "marks")

according to the latest census, 92.1% of britain is white, i am not trying to come across as a nazi here but the feeling i get from using such a narrow range of people advertising this is that it is aimed at black communities, i admit rappers are obvious in popular culture and it isn't just listened to by black youngsters but it just seems so wrong to me, why can't they use a regular black person, seriously how many people go around talking like that?? - the most popular form of music at the mo is actually fairly diverse, hip hop has gone down in the last few years and theres a lot more indie and whingy singers about - i dont care about these people that advertise the rights thing, i do care that it is obviously orientated at a particular type of person in england, and also implies that the police deliberately pick on this sort of person, (which they may well do), ive never even heard of a police search - im a student, i know plenty of druggies they could search

i hope i got my point across, the government are basically shallow and trying to be seen as cool, they focus on the minorities of this country and personally i can understand why groups like the bnp et all are becoming stronger, and why do they play the advert up here??? seriously its like a bowl of rice, i know that the demographics of big cities are slightly more even but why try to alienate the largest section even further - i personally prefer the middle line, appease everybody

this is not a rant at minorities, this is a rant at the insanity of our elected (why??????????? - o yeh, they have no competition) government, governments should not be cool, we all know theyre a load of old gits who employ pr and marketing ppl to target certain audiences - why not do an advert by noel edmonds - lord of all students!! we're a minority too!! anyway, blithering over, i doubt i explained myself very well, but i understand and thats what matters........ahhh

13/05/2006

the internet is weird

ok, i dont get the net here at the mo, basically my comp seems to be being rejected by the network here, i dont understand why...it just happened randomly, something to do with default gateways or something, at the mo ive pinched my flatmates address while hes away for a few days, it just doesnt make sense....ahhh

i had a lot to rant about earlier...it involved idiots and evilness, maybe ill remember in a min

but first - lost! im 3 days behind the yanks but its new to me, finally found out who died and what not ....spoilers (in case the zero ppl who read this care)

well, ana lucia dead, i saw that coming, as is libby, apparently a bundle of blankets can't stop 2 bullets enough, although she was alive for the whole show, ana was dead for it (bar the dream sequence - ill mention later) - all libby said was 'michael' and then she conked it, unfortunately it wasnt 'michael shot me' which would have been far more helpful but i guess it makes teh show more interesting with michael being nuts and noone realising

this was an eko episode, eko is one of my fav characters and is more involved in the whole freaky aspect of the island, so ana appears in a dream and tells him to take locke to his question mark (from wen it all went dark and locke saw the map) and then eko's dead brother appears to both him and locke and they discover a new hatch (number 5 out of 6) which is an observation station for the other hatches, they can see jack wandering about....something tells me this is gonna be handy in proving who shot libby and ana, i smell a finale!!

so libby didn't get any backstory, so why stick her in hurleys past?? is this the writers toying with us or will there be a dream sequence with her in or summat, give it another season and we may find out... maybe she'll wake up from the dead like the kid...

im talking about the kid from ekos past who died and came back to life (surreal, isnt it?) she told eko that his dead brother says he has faith in him, obviously putting some faith into eko for his future on the island

also the kids father was the psychic from claires past who made her go on flight 815, and he was very upset about the whole thing, i reckon he knew what was going on, he said he was a fraud but what about claire? i love the way the pasts all intersect...even if they make no sense

unanswered questions: (i could write a novel with these)

so when do we get a libby backstory? they can't leave us hanging

are eko and locke gonna tell the others and look for the other stations on the island, presumably the hospital building and store room are a few of the places on the map - there were 9 or so places marked i think but the orientation said there were 6 hatches...and will they use the pearl (observation hatch) to look at the shooting?

is michael one of the others now? maybe they use brainwashing...

what happened to henry? he didn't seem too keen on returning to his 'god' figure...i smell a finale again

well, i'm sure i missed some stuff but a damn good episode overall - the island clearly has something unatural about it - aside from healing people, we have now seem dreams telling eko as well as locke about what to do, so obviously they're not coincidences...oh! and where did that pod chute go, maybe someone should start digging

ok enough....ill draw a line on lost there, and then ill go look in net forums for some theories

my next rant...i have discovered the devil incarnate > bill o'reilly, a popular american 'journalist' with a warped view of the world, he basically attacks his guests if they dont agree with his conservative ideas, he makes up most of his material and he's a general piece of shit

it's not that i really care that there are twats like him out there, i don't expect everyone to agree with me (unlike him), my problem is that people actually watch him, and i don't think it's out of concern like i do, he's won awards and is the top viewed something something - that's very scary to me, if people agree with him the world is in grave danger

i first found the guy because i was conducting a little 'research' into the american media, basically i watched this hilarious sending down of bush by some bloke called colbert (pronounced colbear?? - ponce, but a funny ponce) which of course is common practice and our leaders have to lie and take it over here - however i found in america that a lot of mainstream press and tv had either omitted the hilarity or condemned it as 'out of line' - nothing is out of line to me, especially as colbert was speaking what we all know, admittedly i didn't get the internal yank stuff but it seemed humourous enough

hence i discovered fox and o'reilly, blatantly biased towards the government by murdoch, which is no different to here as he owns the widest read newspaper and supports the most powerful party, but there was pretty much no factual content and it wasn't a one sided view like we get from his media, it was complete lies!!

i now understand all the fox jokes the simpsons always throw in, i never realised the extent of it before, but the entire american media is basically censored

i think i can understand simple folk believing conservative jargon, its protective, they feel safe with the status quo, but to allow people like that on the air....

i dont really know how to describe my anger towards this man and cenorship in general, its bad, ive never actually been offended by anyone or anything before, i didn't think it was possible...

over here, and in most of civilised europe, the media can do as they please, public opinion will soon tell them when they cross the line, which subsequently gets pushed further and further, but i'm not here to talk about the finer points of liberalism - consequently the muslims got a bit pissed at a tiny danish paper with a few daft pictures...admittedly i can accept this conservative view from an islamic state, but not from the world superpower which basically started the whole idea of equality, liberalism and freedom of speech, and then did a quick u-turn (well, it did keep slavery for a while didn't it)

i don't think i could quite understand such a conservative view, liberal ideas that yanks (or rather the press and gov) seem to fear are what we base our lives on, our conservatives are liberal by american standards, they just want to protect their own arses and save as much money as possible, i suppose that's why we don't have a 'liberal' party anymore really, our politics is more about protecting different groups (or rather, the same groups at the mo - as theyre both right wing but it used to be workers vs business and wealthy ppl) rather than promoting 'liberal' ideas

so that was the mess inside my head...i hope i put my point across, i doubt i did it very well but that's how i feel, had i had access to the net 2 days ago wen i first saw the man i wouldve been crying for the death penalty to be brought back (well i suppose the yanks actually already have it anyway) - anyway my point is i could quite happily shoot the guy

i love this quote - "all of europe are cowards" - i didn't hear his justification, i doubt he even gave one but i doubt it would have any merit anyway, i admit i love generalising but i would never say on tv that all the french are arrogant twats, only in polite conversation - i don't quite understand, is he just playing on american egos? or the fact that we're generally liberal? or is he just screwed in the head?

i have a counter to his belief:

1 - europe is a big place and stereotypically we're all pretty different, the only place that has ever been stereotypically considered as cowardly is France, and that's just the british press being bitter about losing to them in football or rugby - britain for one isn't considered a coward, blair has no spine admittedly but how can you say one country is cowardly? let alone a whole bloody continent

2 - surely conservatism is the coward's choice? the idea to stay the same and embrace nothing new to not upset anyone is sometimes wise, but usually not, and it's certainly not brave

anyway, that was several thousand words of webpage used up, in short:

lost is good, extreme conservatism is bad, i need a network expert to help fix my internet and i have exams far too soon...

watch out for: political correctness rant!!

11/05/2006

nothing is straightforward

well, ive been revising, finally!!!! so im happy, i now know all about post napoleonic europe (the stuff before the revolutions) - makes me proud to be british, altho they were hardly perfect and still arent they were a damn site better than the loons in europe, its typical british, slowly changing and nothing too violent, with eventual compromise, this is all coming back to me, from my as levels 3 years ago, strange how easy it is to forget stuff like peterloo

anyway enough blithering...about work lol

issues: flatmates are in disarray to an extent, one has sort of abandoned them after signing up to live with them next year (im moving out anyway) and doing it in a rather silly fashion, ive always said hes not trustworthy, havent i? he uses women (and people in general), he just jumps from people to people, no loyalty or commitment, otherwise theyre fine, just a bit narked i think

women: its strange being back at uni, so many more fit women about, dunno wats going on with girl i like, all sorts of mixed messages coming through, very irritating as always

summer: its hot now, which means very hard to bother to do anything at the gym and to sit down and revise instead of playing frisbee outside and drinking in the sun, ive been able to revise tonite but im going out tomorrow and friday night

its also hard juggling groups of friends, obviously my flat mates are my main points of contact now i have no need to go into uni very often, don't want to alienate my other friends, im sure theyre fine, but i like to be involved

apprentice: dippy northern blondy wins, because she was a checkout girl...she fucked about on so many of those tasks and then just batted her eyelids at alan sugar and played the "im working class and had a hard life" im really getting fed up of those lines! i was a checkout boy when i was 16 (worked my way up as much as i could as well) but i also went to public school (because of a grant!) this is somehow a stigma?? that woman is very emotional, im not and i know i had a fairly difficult (if well protected) childhood and have very little emotion (bar anger), i dont like playing on the difficult childhood line because i dont feel its such a great feature, i saw some bad things as a kid and i dont feel the need to play on that, i know its probably why i dont cry (i was the kid at school who never cried - seriously) and while i get pissed off frequently i dont have breakdowns like i see so many ppl do - if she had such a hard life she should be a hell of a lot stronger (maybe shes acting?)

anyway, back to me - public school boy - got in just before labour abolished gov assistanice (hence why i never vote labour, i just morally object to tories btw) and i was never a typical public school boy, the type i see in most of the rugby team and the medics, i didnt have rich parents and the latest toys or a big house, i more than anyone understand the concept of public school boys - i saw them growing up as well as in adult life,  but not everyone who went to a public school is like that - there are intelligent ppl out there who got lucky as well as the priviledged!!! i would like to think that my fortune in education doesn't result in a stigma

btw i know i describe myself as middle class - i am, my parents (well, mum and step dad) arent manual workers, so therefore theyre middle class, like probably the majority of english ppl, it doesnt make them wealthy and my mum and me were in the shit until my stepdad came along wen i was 10 - so there!

this little rant stems from the house of commons where apparently working class lads like prezza are a better representation of british ppl than the posh gits from eton and oxford, probably true, but not all public schools are eton (mine especially) and i feel that a lot of the character of those toffs stems from family as much as the institution, i may not be from an industrial background but i am no toff!!!

anyway, i didnt even watch much of the apprentice - however - Ansell forever!!
