lalala i hate work - nearly easter at least

i have finally seen the finale of season 3 of battlestar - oh what's that? i haven't mentioned battlestar before, well thats because i couldnt be arsed and frankly season 3 has been poor...until now - spoilers below! despite the fact that nobody reads this - but i'm nice anyway

so they revealed 4 of the 5 final cylons at last and they were basically giving the clues right from the start, although i didn't realise there were only 4 of them in part one

basically these four start hearing music in the walls, which happens to be a bob dylan song of all things (more on that story later) and end up being led to a room together when the power in the fleet cuts out, something to do with the cylons perhaps

so who are they? - well once the power comes back on it seems they have been switched on - and they are - tory (the presidents aide), anders, tyrol and tigh - an intriguing bunch, im not so sure i believe it frankly

nothing is ever simple in this show - so im not 100% convinced about this - anders and tory havent really had a backstory developed so fair enough, especially considering anders fortunately met starbuck back on caprica (please note the other cylons didnt know their identities either) tyrol hasnt had much of a backstory either - but has had a kid with cally, considering the hooha over the other bloody half blood kid it seems daft to have another one just happily being born and as for tigh - well there is so many holes there it seems silly - false memories can be created, but considering adama served with tigh in the first war before the humanoid cylons were about makes me doubt it, and if you say adama is the top cylon that can be disputed by his ties to starbuck and lee

so if they arent cylons its possible they have been implanted with something, or they may be cylons anyway and as someone pointed out this may be completely irrelevant, all 4 of them completely denied their 'true' self btw - can you see tigh accepting this? but what this person pointed out was that the song is a bob dylon song about a joker and a thief taking over the world and bringing down the old order or some shit - apparently this is baltar and six building a new society with the workers - sounds like marxist crap to me but whatever

there is also a line about 2 riders, which she interpreted as baltar and six - but i feel this could be lee and starbuck as they were both in vipers at the end, yes starbuck is back already and apparently she's been to earth - is she a cylon? or just god? who knows - i think that was kind of the point of this ep, to keep the fans chomping at the bit and create as much speculation as possible - oh yeah they panned out and zoomed back in on earth (america is the world!! yeeha) at the end too - it's quite near by the look of it

as for the final cylon who knows - roslin has been sharing dreams with cylons, which i suppose could be seen as her being the last one but wouldnt she have been turned on too? she and adama, and starbuck all seem too obvious if you ask me 

this is getting very lost-esque, especially if they reveal that those 4 arent really cylons and if theyve been revealing plot lines in folk songs and using misdirection it feels a bit of a rip-off

and what the hell is this about a movie? apparently on the pegasus whilst it was alone, which will be important for season 4 - so basically lke new caprica was this season, to create a load of subplots to drag out the series - great...i want cylons! and space battles! and travelling to earth, not suicide bomber anxiety!

at least lost still has a few months to confuse us all 

i havent blogged about women for a while - i gave them up remember, and plus my number one feeling is currently about the england team but anyway ill resist and go and whinge on bbc sport or something

so basically i was walking to uni this morning with a female friend and i was noticing more women looking and smiling at me, this may have been a coincidence, or me fantasising but it did seem noticable - especially as i hadnt done my hair or put on clean clothes (uni life)

is there a reason for this? if im not actually talking out my arse

ok what else - it's nearly easter hols, so yay i get to go home, woopde...do and yet i have 2 assignments to do first, then five weeks without gym, not that ive been going much lately

that was awful! exactly as i predicted - 0-0 in the most retarded england performance ive seen in a while

it wasn't as if we were particularly bad - we defended well, too well considering israel did the girly, childish, cowardly tactic of sitting behind the ball to force a draw for most of the game but there was no desire, teamwork or spirit

gerrard was his usual self, but he was alone and on the right where he shouldnt be so he was stifled, if you put him in the centre he will probably put one in from 20 yards! likewise most of the defenders played fine, but were underused and we didn't really need hargreave for this - so come the last 20 desperate minutes what does that pillock do - takes off lennon for downing! WHY? he didnt make a single tactical change - the whole country was screaming for him to take off hargreaves and/or lampard and bring on carrick to open up the game

lampard was poor, constantly trying solo efforts and missing, he's commited but he needed to do more than keep lumping the ball at the goal

rooney has been criticised for being poor, i just think he was frustrated which so often happens with him and england in general - israel put about 8 men behind the ball, giving him no room and the poor quality of delivery up front meant he didnt get enough time with the ball, and rooney being rooney that just makes him worse 

johnson did well and worked hard but again wasn't getting the chances, plus the ref was clearly biased, booking carragher for no reason - bloody foreign refs, don't understand that english football has more contact (the bloke slowed down so carragher would charge into him, and he fell over as jamie's a big lad)

micah richards did inject a bit of life into the match but was helpless really - clearly mclaren is a monumental failure and can't inspire the team but the fa can't sack him yet, especially as we will win the next two - a game like this we couldve done with, you know it - beckham

seriously - andorra have zip points and -18 goal difference, and yet have conceded 19 so who actually conceded? they have a smaller population than bournemouth!

as you can guess this is a blog about football, and there will likely be one on sat evening or sunday about it as well - i have not been blogging lately because frankly my life is dull - time to whinge about my team

here's the facts - england are currently third in their euro qualifying group and only the top 2 teams qualify - there are 8 games left out of 12 so its not over at all but we are far and away the best side in this group - the last two games we drew with macedonia away, who are pathetic frankly and lost to croatia in a howler of a game (also away) who are the second, or probably first, best side in the group - we have 3 away games coming up, lots of pressure to win basically

why we have 5 of the away games in a row i don't know, but it means we will be having 4 games at wembley in the coming year - it finally opened!! anyway, tensions are running very high as everyone hates mclaren (manager) anyway and we got 1 point out of 2 games  - so there is a lot of pessism and harsh words about our team, especially as half our defence is missing

so we have no defence - ashley cole is suspended for the hard game (israel) but we will be back for the 6-nil predicted drubbing of andorra on weds, great - he is our only real option at left back, and gary neville is injured at right back, this wouldnt be so much of a problem if our other right back, micah richards wasn't a doubt with a minor injury so we have neither full back position covered as it should - step in jamie carragher who is a great defender, he can cover pretty much any position and tbh should be in the first team anyway, but unfortunately he has stiff competition considering how specialised our defence is and he has to settle for being a cover, he should play right back, but as he is the best option we have he is expected to be stuck at left back which is the harder position (we're always poor on the left) and phil neville (who is shit) will be right back, however we also have gareth barry who is a left sided player who could play left back too, but is preferable in left midfield as we have no left winger as joe cole is unavailable - you following, i'm not

we also have luke young, who is a right back, who will be stuck on the bench as he was a replacement for gary neville and is utterly pointless unless we get yet another injury as mclaren seems to want to play phil neville instead of decent players

so our defence will be terry and rio in the middle, thank god and probably carragher on the left and the wrong neville on the right, or carragher on the right and barry/neville on the left, or young on the right and carragher/barry on the left - flip a coin i say, what scares me is that's probably how mclaren will do it

anyway - onto our midfield which is technically where we should destroy israel - however we can only have 4 midfielders as we need 4 in defence and rooney cant play lone striker - gerrard is a must, best player on the pitch, and where he plays no-one knows, at liverpool he plays sort of in the middle, but he quite often drifts left, then right - it is quite likely mclaren will throw him left and completely stifle him to accomodate lampard - who is undroppable unfortunately - he rarely plays well for england and gets in gerrard's way bu he plays for chelsea and he does that very well - he can only play central, where gerrard should be - the other central role is hargreaves, who is a defensive midfielder - we need him to save our arses, especially without ashley cole, who normally fills that role and on the right we need lennon, who is great at running down the wing

so midfield is pretty obvious - however, mclaren will want to play downing, who is a left winger, and who is also shit, gareth barry or joe cole should be filling that role really, joe cole would if he was fit but it's a bit tricky - however mclaren wont drop lampard in the middle and so will force gerrard left, therefore leaving the midfield as i have described - what he should do is DROP LAMPARD! as he does sod all (watch as he scores a hat trick tomorrow now ive said that - i guess it's win-win for me either way) stick gerrard in central so he can rush forward, leaving hargreaves filling midfield, with lennon and barry on the wings - he won't tho

up front we have strikers for once and andy bloody johnson better bloody score or else he'll be waiting another 3 years for a start, rooney will sit behind and demolish anyone in his way - so up front we're fine

why is it that i can write a huge essay on an england game but not even start my assignment due in on monday? - this is nearly 1000 words!

did borat really get banned from the bbc? i can find almost no mention of this on the net, there are clips of him being pretty tame on comic relief and a mention of 'chocolate boys' but i can't see why the bbc would ban him over such a minor thing, not in this day and age, and it was completely in line with the character..if i find this is true, i will be having a serious rant about the beeb

on a plus note i finished zelda...only took 40 hours, and the ending wasn't even worth it - spoilers in case anyone cares

basically you fight ganon whom i believe is a staple bad guy in a pretty cool, but bloody long sword fight, and the ending occurs, zelda is already revived and is fine and nothing at all happens with her, (and yet she gets the title??)

midna, the little rude imp on your back is cured and becomes a real twilight person again, she is the twilight princess mentioned in the title and she is pretty attractive, if you like black and blue sprite women - i dont really feel her attitude as an imp matched her as a princess, she was too rebellious and crazy to become a standoffish princess

then midna breaks the mirror forever and leaves, and that's it - during the credits the kids who were stuck in the other village travel back home and link biggers about on his horse - that's it!

im too used to final fantasy style 20 minute endings but seriously when i play a game for 40 hours i want a reward! most of the ending is revealed as you complete the final dungeons - anyway, i can now do some work, and then get ff12!! a real game! zelda is for kids 

i have many things to mention, i wonder how quickly ill write them this time - stargate spoilers ahead btw

so firstly time for a whinge about the finale of sg-1 - it sucked! basically they quickly killed off the asgard, presumably so they can't be in the planned tv movies and they gave earth all of their technology and knowledge, which is a mad idea and of course could only be done in the last ep as there would be a lot of issues - eg. with asgard tech they could easily build zpm style generators and get to pegasus as much as they need, not to mention the whole earth politics hassle

but anyway, that was a substory - the main one was that the ori were chasing sg1 on the odyssey because of the hooked up tech and carter creates that old sg1 classic - a time-dilation field! which stops an energy beam a few hundred metres outside the ship - consequently sg1 and landry get stuck indefinitely, with asgard tech conveniently providing any essentials they require for the next 40 years and so they get old, landry dies, vala and daniel become a couple and carter learns the cello

and that's basically it - happy ending, if somewhat dull, and then as they all near 100 or so carter creates a way to escape and reverse time (convenient - thats why i love sci-fi shows) - unfortunately one of them needs to run the program to prevent it all happening again, which would mean they would stay old - good job tealc has a 200 year lifespan (he gets a big grey stripe of hair)

and so tealc saves the ship and is the only one with any memories, and for some reason he cant tell the others what happened - why? i dont know as causality wouldnt matter seeing as the situation couldnt happen again, but whatever and they all have a happy ending and walk off through the gate, for a tv movie

next! eurovision - we just chose our entry and again we've done a doozy

we chose a band called scooch - who, reminiscent of the vengaboys, have a whole dance routine involving airline stewardesses and duty free and such like, i dont even remember the song - it aint a classic tho

why do we do this? the answer is simple: because we are british! as soon as i saw how awful they were i knew they would win, because eurovision is a joke, especially to the british so we instinctively go for the stupidest entry possible so as to separate us from try-hard europeans and demonstrate our humour (which is also reflected in our voting - 'we are the winners..of eurovision!' best song ever, and guess who voted for it? we did! - please see old rant about eurovision)

i did feel sorry for the woman who came second, she was pretty and sung a sensible song, and terry wogan did announce her as winner accidentally but unfortunately we have gone into ultra-taking-the-piss mode since we got 'nil point' and refuse to even look like we are attemtping to win - we dont really care, no one would watch if it werent for wogan's commentary, and yet we still pay for most of the bloody thing - ungrateful euros, we do these silly little countries a favour and fund a competition which we officially admit to believing is a joke and they never vote for us - the irish and icelandics have a sense of humour about it at least, theyre normally the only ones who vote for us

anyway i look forward to mocking the continentals in may

so ive only done 2 entries in march..oh well, havent really been doing a lot

im currently being idle and playing on me wii too much, and there's been a bit of bitching about the '4th' flatmate, who as i have previously whinged about can be somewhat annoying, plus he keeps finding women which is better than me dammit

meanwhile i have been watching lost and stargate to avoid doing any work

stargate i feel has run its course - some very poor plotlines, feel a bit forced and somewhat easy - maybe it's a good job it's going

lost however has been picking up, how the hell hurley managed to make a vw campervan run without an engine ill never know, also they found the bloke with an eyepatch - big anticlimax, which is to be expected with lost, never gives you it easy and then locke decided to blow up the house - i do wonder if he killed any of the farm animals and where the hell they came from...the black woman also got killed

tis intriguing 

anyway, i think im closing in on finishing zelda - iv been buggering about finding ghosts and bugs for no real reason, and i bought 'magic' armour, which sucks really, although i havent really needed it

i have been neglectful - bad me, but i have been busy - playing on my new wii!!! (and maybe working)

yes so it is time to run through a few games - wii sports is good fun, that's the 'free' game bundled with the console and it is very addictive and fun - it's not exactly a big game but it does utilise the wii-remote thingy and (miis!!) which i think is the main purpose and is best played multi-player - highly competitive

boxing is hard work, good job i do martial arts really - im easily the fittest of my mates, and it is tiring - admittedly the games arent exactly reailstic and you dont need to be good at any of the sports in reality to be good at these

tennis is actually my least favourite, i still like it tho, it's just a bit repetitive and the others games are better

baseball - mainly fun because you can make a whole team of freakish 'mii's, customised characters that you can play as, the rules of this 'sport' are retarded tho - stupid yanks

bowling - quite easy, unlike real bowling but still fun and you can play 4 player and get stupidly competitive

golf - my personal fav, unfortunately there's only 1 9-hole course which is a shame and results in people getting very used to each hole (my record is now -6 - which means i never get skill points because i'll never attain it again) - my hole in one was awesome tho and the wind does add an extra element to it

anyway, enough of the fun freebie game which you will end up playing with your flatmate til 7am occasionally and onto real gaming

namely - zelda

i never played ocarina of time, im told its awesome or something but i don't care, i'm much more 'a link to the past' boy, however i am told this game is very similar to that

you are a young boy, too young if you ask me, who is of course link who has to save the world from the twilight realm - which is nasty and other fairly standard, though modernised, zelda concepts - i.e. boomerangs, shields, swords, boar riding goblins, dungeons, castle hyrule etc..

i think it is quite easy, i think im halfway through and although i have died a few times (i thought there was a complex system to escape a fire - but nope, just jump off a hundred foot high bridge) it's quite easy to kill stuff and progress - the biggest challenge is getting around and finding all the hidden items and hearts if you ask me

anyway you all want to hear about the wii remote thingy ya?

gameplay - you control movement with a joystick on the nunchuk bit, and sword slinging with a flick of the remote, and a variety of buttons allows you to alter the sword swings slightly - it isn't overly realistic but it definitely beats hammering A and B buttons, i would like it if power and accuracy were a factor but that's a bit much to expect, give it ten years maybe - anyway ill give it a 9/10

you also get to be a wolf! this is a cool novelty, and the whole digging and sensing thing is refreshing when you get bored of swords - the good thing it isnt an overused feature - you are a wolf for a fairly short period (well 3 periods) and then you can change at will, so it doesnt dominate the game - but adds an extra element when fighting and finding stuff, link is still better as human (bomb arrows!!) but its still cool 

sound - like i care, seems fine to me - 7/10 

story - it's very kiddy, considering it's a 12+ as well, which i know means bugger all but it's quite light and happy, fun nonetheless i just feel kind of embarrassed watching sprite children going on about being brave and stuff - the old snes and game boy games were a fair bit darker - still, i play for the gameplay and satisfaction - 6/10

anyway im bored of that now - in short a good game, story is a bit wimpy but still a very fun game to play, anything with bomb arrows has to be cool really 

have i mentioned my results? i did great - got a high 2-1 after all so all is well

meanwhile time for a rant!

why do people insist on highlighting every thing in books!!!? i have a book for my next assignment and the most useful chapter is covered in pink sodding highlighter! i could tell it was the most useful chaper from its title, i didnt need pink pages as well

i mean what is the point? this girl (presumably - it's pink, im sure blokes do it too tho) has highlighted at least 3/4 of each page making it the most irritating thing to read, yellow might be a tad better but seriously!! grrrarggh!

firstly how selfish and inconsiderate do you have to be? this is a library book which other people will be using in future years, not everybody likes reading with pink lines everywhere and highlighting that much has no real purpose

this brings me on to my second point - why are people so stupid? she has highlighted everything! why not just read the whole thing without the highlighter, you highlight the important bits! this reminds me of just how stupid people are, for example i put little effort into last term (and i am ashamed) but i still managed a 2-1 and i am extremely thankful for that - i have seen people 'work' for hours and fail or get a third (same if you ask me - seriously, what good are thirds?)

likewise i see people write down everything a lecturer says, even the jokes - i write relatively little, to be honest i could write less - i quite often just do it to look like im not being lazy or retarded or something but these guys (or rather girls usually) write everything sodding thing

i dont know why people seem to struggle more than me, maybe they dont understand what they need to do to analyse stuff, in essays you need to emphasise the purpose of why each point is important and how so - i am not perfect but these people who work hard and fail really do baffle me - working hard means highlighting a whole chapter, then memorising it and subsequently writing shite, you do of course get people who work hard and know what theyre doing and get those ever elusive firsts (ive managed to scrape 3 so far, compared to 6 2-1s)

anyway - stop being retarded! and watch me fail my latest assignments now ive been all cocky
